Resumen

In this study some terms related to food in Late Antiquity are analysed in two works of very different type, Anthimus’ De obseruatione ciborum epistula and the Etymologies of Isidore of Seville, comparing the latter with some terms present on Visigothic slates. The objective of the analysis is to show the survival of a classical vocabulary and its possible evolution in later times, as elements to take into account for the construction of a possible Latin lexicon on food.
