Abstract
An article by J.Gómez Hermosilla, published in the magazine «El Censor» deals with journalistic Ethics. Such a subject, already deal with in the early date of July 1822, deserves to be the object of a commentary and an analysis in the context of a period in which the importance of the Press and the need to form public opinion are taken into account. The debates on freedom of the Press move the author to defend it but also to require a kind of deontological decalogue which would serve as a responsible professional conscience. All this with political moderation which was the starting point of our journalistic school in the XIX century.
