Abstract
This paper reviews the book La mediación social, written by Manuel Martín Serrano and published in 1977. Our aim is to identify its main contributions and to offer some key features for understanding its importance in the communication studies history. We explore the theoretical and methodological framework in order to analyze social mediations as the most typical adjustment mechanism of post-industrial capitalism. Moreover, we place this publication in the author´s work and we emphasize that it has opened a study field focused on social mediations.
