Resumo
On the occasion of the 225th anniversary of the establishment of the Hospital Clinico San Carlos (1787-2013) in Madrid, the author gives an overview of the history of this landmark institution in the teaching of medicine in Spain. He also highlights the eminent doctors and teachers who have left an indelible memory on it.
