Resumen

Multifunctional character of the agricultural activity implies public goods production, without being market mechanisms to compensate those public goods producers. There are several important public goods from agricultural activities linked to rural, cultural, ethnographic and even environmental tourism. In the present paper the relationship between the main agricultural and the secondary public goods productions are analyzed for the olive oil sector in Cordoba Region. Results show the weakness of the joint production linked to volatility of markets, the importance of the tourist assets provided by the olive oil activity, as well as the necessity of the secondary tourist goods compensation to ensure the viability of the main agricultural activity.
