Abstract

Taking as a starting point the crisis suffered in the last ten years, we analyse the measures taken by the authorities of the European Union as well as the consequences derived from them for all countries, and especially for Spain. Given that the applied economic policy has been too simple, taking as the only independent variable the established amount of the public deficit and debt, and considering that the economy is a complex system, we have decided to return to the thinking of the great masters who, as Keynes and the postkeynesians, especially Joan Robinson and Nicolas Kaldor, addressed the same problem that are today, what make us think that may be useful to reconsider the content of their rigorous contributions. On this bases, and using as a valuable working tool the decision models, the theory of optimal control, and the functional analysis, we propose the economic policy that in general the Europeans countries need, and in a very special way the case of the Spanish economy.
