Abstract
The MS. BNE 6149 ff. 15v-17v refers the story of the appearance of a bleeding crucifix, when the blue mosque of Tabris collapsed due to an earthquake, with an inscription in Greek inviting to do penance. The false historical setting of the event betrays it as a propaganda piece in favour of a coalition of Christians with Persia to stop the Ottoman’s Empire expansion in Europe.
