Topics discussed include the evolution of hypersurfaces by mean curvature flow, nonlinear wave equations including harmonic maps, and blow-up mechanisms for semilinear parabolic equations. Much of the material presented consists of very recent results and in many cases, no surveys of the topics under consideration are available in the scientific journals.
