Abstract

Background: The cinema has been used since its inception in the teaching of Medicine. There have been numerous studies of the relationship between cinema and neurology. The aim of this paper is to apply the teaching theater neurological examination. Method: We used a fragment of the film Dark Victory (1939), for teaching the neurologic examination in Medicine. Results: We obtained a high participation of students identified numerous screening tests, described the symptoms found and pointed out the aspects that they had drawn attention in the film fragment. Conclusions: The teaching method was very useful for the acquisition of specific and transversal competences such as teamwork, observation, communication and reasoning.
