The main objective of this study is to analyze the geometry of the thrust and associated tear faults developed during the Alpine Orogeny in the eastern-central region of the Spanish Central System (Segovia, Spain). In this area, thrust faults developed in the Paleozoic metamorphic rocks of the basement are propagated towards the surface, generating folds in the overlying Cretaceous sedimentary cover. The general orientation of the thrusts is consistently northeast-southwest, whilst dip values vary between 30º and 60º. The geometry of these thrusts is of listric type with high dip values in the surface which grade into lower angles at depth. The accomplishment of compensated cross sections following the most favorable orientations has allowed the measurement of the shortening of the zone, which in some areas reaches values up to 8%.
