Resumo
The present work studies the historical evolution of medical secrecy and tangentially of professional secrecy in general from a criminal law perspective. Specifically, this study analyses the evolution of this rule from its origin as an ethical duty in ancient Greece until its transformation into a criminally enforceable duty upon its inclusion in the Spanish Criminal Code of 1822.
