Résumé

The temporal - spatial location of Cuba at the meridional boundary of the North American Lithospheric Plate in direct relation with the smaller Caribbean Plate is responsible for the seismicity and neofaulting of the Eastern Neotectonic Unit. A kinematic of blocks model is proposed (three dynamic cells), which includes the action of vertical and horizontal neotectonic processes. The spatial arrangement of the cells allow us to explain the occurrence of earthquakes in the area and points out the differentiation of activity of the seismogenetic faults and knots.
