Abstract
In March 1743, to mark the reforms carried out in the Sculpture Workshop of the Royal Palace in Madrid, the governors of the different Spanish provinces were requested to gather and send information about the most capable sculptors they had any knowledge of in order to summon them to take part in the decorative project designed for the building. The in formation obtained turns out to be of special interest since it allows us to know which sculptors were working at that time or which were considered by their contemporaries as the most important in the provinces about whom documentation is preserved. This information also provides unpublished data concerning the work of some of them.
