Resumen

A detailed gravimetric study has been carried out in a sector in SE border of the Spanish Central Range (in the area of Guadalix de la Sierra) in which fractures have been detected that affect both the Hercian basement and the Mesozoic and Tertiary cover that put the several structural units existing in the area into contact. Two faults of N60º E and N75º E trend have acted as a low angle thrust, while one of N30- has a strike-slip reverse component and another norm al fault of a NiOO-E direction is also present. The origin of the faults Is in the Tardihercinian fractures which were prone to slipping durin the Alpine Orogeny
