Zusammenfassung

It was studied the morphological and histological characteristics of Papaver bracteatum plants in a subhumid mediterranean bioclimate. The object was to verify their adaptation to environmental conditions different those their natural habitat (irano-turanico bioclimate). It was observed some characters that could be used both in the correct identification of P. bracteatum as in its microscopic differentation of P. somniferum. . This is important because the metabolic characteristics (alkaloid level) and the pharmaceutical interest of these species of Papaver genus are different.
