Abstract

The University of Granada, like the other in Mexico, were king’s prize by conquest. At this regard, the conquest of New Spain represented the continuation of the Castillian expansion in the Middle Ages. Both universities were also a means to shed light on the problems posed by the evangelization of the pagans.
