Résumé
An experiment has been carried out with Manchega breed whethers in order to know the effect of NaOH treatment of barley straw during different rimes as well as the degree of fragmentation upon the crude protein intake and the protein content of the straw. The stadistical analysis of the results showed significative increase in the intake of CP/kg LY«,7s (p< 0,01) due to the alkaly treatment, being such increase higher in the case of the straw more fínely cut.
