Zusammenfassung

The variation of the chemical composition (crude protein, ether extraer, cell wall constituents, acid detergent-fiber, cellulose, lignin, hemicelluloses and ash) in sainfoin at different stages of maturity and vegetation eyeles were determined in the year 1973- On dry matter basis, the percentage of crude protein (21,2-15,8 %) and the percentages of cell wall constituents (26,8-38,9 %) , acid detergent fiber (23,5-33,2 %) and lignin (7,4- 11,4% ) increased as maturity of the plant advanced. The differences were statisticaliy significant (P < 0,01). Dry matter digestibility was estimated using the summative equation of Van. Soest. The results showed a significant decline (P < 0,01) of digestibility against time because of the changes in chemical composition.
