E. A. Poedelirios de un confabulador

Resumo

Poe continues to mesmerize his readers in very different and contradictory ways. And it seems that his critical reception and literary fate are doomed to produce new forms of resistence. This is probably due not only to psychological, aesthetic or idiosincrathic factors of his liteary production, but also to his complex, challenging and transgressive role within his profession as man of letters. Though this aspect has already been explored, our study examines some of those factors taking the generic and fictional boundary of confabulation to its neurolgical ground. This does not lead to speculate about clinical or biographical assumptions, but to undestand the writing of his fiction as a mental process actively determined by the social and neurological pressures of confabulation (in some cases identified with the process of lying).
