"Escala de coerción sexual" (ECS) en relaciones de noviazgopropiedades psicométricas en población juvenil española

Resumen

La violencia sexual en las relaciones de noviazgo en jóvenes no se ajusta a los modelos explicativos existentes en adultos, de ahí la necesidad de contar con instrumentos que permitan analizar este tipo de comportamientos en la juventud. En este estudio se analizan las propiedades psicométricas de la “Escala de coerción sexual” (ECS), generada por los autores, con 3665 jovenes de entre 16 y 24 años. Se dividió la muestra en dos submuestras diferentes llevándose a cabo un análisis factorial exploratorio y confirmatorio con cada una de ellas. Se encontró un único factor. La fiabilidad de la escala fue adecuada, así como la validez convergente, con correlaciones positivas y significativas con la versión modificada de la “Escala de tácticas de conflicto” (M-CTS; Neidig, 1986) que mide violencia física y verbal. También se encontraron diferencias significativas, en el sentido esperado, en la ECS en función de la edad y el sexo. La ECS constituye un instrumento adecuado para evaluar coerción sexual en relaciones de noviazgo en España.

En este contexto, y dadas las limitaciones que se acaban de comentar, las peculiaridades de la población y del constructo a estudiar, surgió la “Escala de coerción sexual” (ECS) que es un instrumento diseñado específicamente por los autores para medir coerción sexual en relaciones de noviazgo, tratándose de una escala breve y de fácil aplicación, que pregunta por la relación de noviazgo que la persona evaluada tenga en la actualidad, tiene en cuenta la bidireccionalidad de los comportamientos coercitivos, está dirigida también a población adolescente a partir de 16 años y contempla en su contenido diferentes tipos de comportamientos coercitivos, tanto los más sutiles (p. ej., amenazar con dejar la relación si no se mantienen relaciones sexuales, insistir verbalmente en mantener relaciones sexuales y emborrachar o drogar para mantener relaciones sexuales), como los comportamientos coercitivos que implican en mayor medida violencia física (p. ej., amenazar con utilizar la fuerza física y agararrar o sujetar para realizar prácticas sexuales que la otra parte no quiere consentir).
