Abstract

In basketball, as a team sport, the whole team works together cooperatively to achieve a common goal: score more points than the opponent and, therefore, win. In order to do so, it is very important to start the work from the defense. This article analyzes the defense of Spain in the World Cup final in Japan in all quarters, concluding the team did a good work, leaving the Greek team in just 47 points. All players showed great capacity of concentration to avoid defensive forgetfulness, good anticipation and, above all, good placement in the field.
