Abstract
The Spanish basketball team won the title of World Champion in the World Cup in Japan in 2006. This success was due to the joint work of the whole team, led by the magnificent work of coach Jose Vicente "Pepu" Hernandez. This paper analyzes every game of the World Championship from the earliest stages to the final game, in which Spain beat the Greek national team by 23 points. Attention is given to the numbers that are reflected in the statistics of each game and, above all, a comparison every opponent in each game to see where was the difference between both teams, ending in victory for the Spanish team.
