Abstract

This article addresses the Sufis footprints through the toponymy research. To do this we focus on three voices who head the title of the work: murābiṭ, rubayṭa and zāwiya. Murābiṭ (marabout) discusses its complex semantics and its toponymic results; Rubayṭa (Rubit/Rubite), definition and characteristics of the rabita and the presence of its diminutive in the Andalusian toponymy; and finally, zāwiya its historical significance, nickname use as Arabism and the different toponymic results offered in andalusian territory.
