Zusammenfassung
The first part of the essay considers, under the light of Augustine theology, the “verbal” significance of Beatrice; the second part analyses the episode of Giovanna-Primavera, revealing an implicit reference to the baptism of John and Christ, the key to distinguishing the quality of two different poetics, that of Guido Calvacanti, and that of Dante himself.
