Resumen

The palynofacies of seven samples from Mina Pepita section, Cuenca province, deposited during the late Aptian are analysed They belongs to the Burgal Member (Caroch Fm) in the central Iberian Ranges. Sediments consist of white terrigenous sandstones with thin black intercalated shales interpreted as fluvial braided and nearshore deposits. The quantitative and qualitative palynological study of the particulate organic matter assemblage involve the identification of the palynomorphs, amorphous components and macérais. This study permit obtain indications about the depositional environment. The high presence in some samples of Matoniaceae spores being characteristic of estuarine banks, in contrast with the abundance of Conifers bisaccate pollen and high spores diversity in other samples, suggests an alternation between fluvial and coastal deposits. The trimaceritic composition of macérais indicates estuarine depositional environments.
