Resumen

To date, the increasing energy demand and the depletion of traditional non-renewable energy sources has become one of the biggest problems for the global population. Together with the excessive emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, these issues have caused a serious energy and environmental crisis.[1] Therefore, it is of big interest the development of novel electroactive organic platforms than can provide efficient and sustainable performances as electrode materials for energy storage and conversion devices. This article briefly describes different strategies that have been explored for the design and synthesis of novel organic polymeric materials, namely Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) that can be successfully applied for tailored energy-related applications
