Zusammenfassung
Canary Islands are well-known by their enormous geodiversity mostly shown by the impressive volcanic reliefs and their erosive morphologies, but also by sedimentary deposits such as fossil beaches, eolian deposits and calcretes. The sedimentary deposits are more characteristic and better known in the eastern most islands. In addition, recently and especially in Gran Canaria a variety of deposits related to thermal springs have been described, constituting so an outstanding feature of this volcanic island. In this contribution we briefly described the continental carbonate deposits of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in other to visualized them as an integral part of the geological heritage of these volcanic islands. The deposits describe in this paper include: calcretes, travertinestufas and megarhizoliths
