Resumo

This work describes and analyses the benthic foraminiferal assemblages with a high abundance and diversity of adherent foraminifera and representatives of the Textulariina Suborder, recorded in the lower Aalenian-lower Bajocian transition in the Talveila section (northwest of the Iberian Range). A total of 17 species corresponding to the Textulariina Suborder and 5 species of adherent foraminifera have been identified. The composition of the foraminiferal assemblages allows improving the knowledge about the depositional context in which these assemblages were developed, interpreted as a proximal environment, with shallow and warm waters, and displaying favorable conditions for the development of assemblages with this taxonomic composition.
