Abstract

The Middle Triassic reptile track site Los Arroturos (Guadalajara, Spain) provides a high scientific and didactic interest. This locality can be very useful for developing educational goals such asfieldtrips and divulgate activities. To check its potential, some fieldtrips with scholar students have been carried out. These activities were a great opportunity to promote the interest in geosciences and to improve awareness about the importance of palaeontological heritage. The weathering is one of the main dangerous threats for this tracksite and, if no adequate protection is provided, these tracks will be quickly totally deteriorated. The surrounding area offers an outstanding cultural heritage and it would be interesting publicize this tracksite as well as use this method to promote their protection.
