Abstract
The Iberian Peninsula displays a huge variety of bedrock rivers thanks to its recent uplift and the occurrence of numerous mountain ranges with large lithological variety and very diverse, past and present, hydrological regimes. These rivers and their associated morphologies compose a geomorphological heritage, dispersed in almost all of the peninsula's rocky massifs, which makes them especially valuable, but also increases the difficulties for their conservation.
