Abstract
This article analyzes collector’s house museums from different points of view, a type of museum that we believe deserves further consideration. After defining its most relevant characteristics, we will try to value its architecture and spatial organization, as well as the close relationship it has with the collector and with its environment. For this, we offer a systematization proposal consisting of grouping into four categories a series of collector’s house museums, both Spanish and foreign, depending on the greater or lesser involvement of the collector in the construction or choice of the building itself, and even in its musealization, that complex process in which the house goes from being the residence of the collector to being one of his collection.
