Abstract

What do we mean by contemporary philosophy? Is it possible for philosophy to be contemporary? The article seeks to answer these questions by taking into account the writings by the Spanish philosopher José Ortega y Gasset on Hegel and the Historiology. The “historiology” concept used and coined by Ortega is essential to address a philosophical problem that is as old as philosophy itself, the foreign nature of philosophy.
