Abstract

The Milky Way (1969), by Luis Buñuel, shows a demystifier image where heterodoxy and orthodoxy turn one beyond the other, and where the only sense is the own image. This last does not reveal the capacity to unify our vision, but it can provides us of an aesthetic gaze. The next pages consist of a comment on The Milky Way through the prism of Juan Larrea’s theories about teleology of history -theories well known by Buñuel-. In this sense, it is necessary to remember that this film did not satisfied Juan Larrea, due to the filmmaker recreated elements related with the Sacred History in a comic way.
