Abstract
that Slovak as a language may sound harder it is in fact much finer and richen in diminutives than Spanish. This phenomenon can be seen from a simple evidence of diminutive suffixes in Slovak and Spanish. Based on the characterístic of the language there are more diminutive suffixes in Slovak than in Spanish. Besides some other things the biggest difference can be found in existence and usage of verbal diminutives in Slovak. Lexical value of diminutives in both languages, their stylistic value and last but not least also their usage in vanious language styles are also discussed.
