Resumo
In the present contribution to the study of the benthic communities of Galicia (Spain) we present a detailed description of the communities of "Blidingia", which confer a very characteristic physiognomy to the upperintertidad level in exposed and sheltered sites. The data obtained from the study of these communities and from their variability in regard to floristic composition and distribution in relation to certain ecologic and topographic parameters points to the existence of an association in which "Blidingia marginata" is a characteristic species.
