Resumen

El Análisis de Redes Sociales ha experimentado un gran auge en las últimas décadas entre científicos de diversas ramas. Sin embargo, se resiste a ser aceptado entre los historiadores, especialmente en el ámbito del medievalismo. El artículo expone qué puede aportar esta metodología a la investigación histórica y qué dificultades se presentan a la hora de adaptarla a esta disciplina. Para ello realiza un repaso a los trabajos de historia medieval que han aplicado el Análisis de Redes Sociales. El objetivo es constatar los logros, las limitaciones y el potencial que esta vía de estudio presenta para la historia en general, y para la época medieval en particular
