Resumo

Chemical composition, organic mather digestibility and energy content of bard vetch forage at seven stages of increasing maturity were studied in the years 1974-75, 1975-76 and 1976-77. Crude protein content (26.2-19.7 %), O.M.D. (78.6-64.3 °/o) and energy value (0.87-0.60 feed units/Kg. dry matter) decreased while neutral detergent fiber (19.9-42.5 %), acid detergent fiber (17.7-29.7 %) and lignin content (4.4-9.1 %) increased as maturity of plant advanced. Significant differences (P<0.01) were also found among years.
