Abstract

The purpose of this work is revealing the role that the concept of power plays in the critical ontology of the self and the present that Michael Foucault signs. It is not about elaborating a general theory of power, it is about making an interpretation (inthe sense of Deleuze), in other words, elucidate his original elements to light of our own criterion. To do this, we will rely fundamentally on the genealogical base of the French thinker, this is, the period that begins with The order of discourse(1970) and that covers the entire decade of the seventies. In the end, we analize the current Foucault’s vision, in debate with other contemporary authors.
