This paper shows the preliminary paleoseismological study of the Tobarra-Cordovilla active segment, a complex graben basin of the Pozohondo Fault (NW-SE). This segment is a strike-slip fault with normal component, although small variations of the fault plane orientation can produce a transpression regime, with positive flowerstructures affecting the present soil. We have performed a 3D trenching at the distal NW part of the antithetic fault. From this preliminary analysis, we have interpreted three recent seismic events (< 125 ka). Hence, the recurrence interval calculated is 1 – 10 ka for moderate-strong earthquakes (6 < Mw < 7).
