Resum
The aim of this study is to explore the technology of production of the higher learning institutions. We also offer empirical evidence that analyse the tecnical efficieny of the Spanish Departament of Economics inthe period 1994-95. The methodoloty used is based on the linear programming models that provide the Data Envelopment analysis (DEA). The results obtained reveal that it is possible to increase significantly the performance of the departments and show those departments with the most efficient productive practices.
