Abstract
This paper analyzes scientific cosmology and cosmologist’s spontaneous philosophy from the tenets of philosophical materialism, since the analysis is not independent of the (philosophical) idea of science that everyone has. After pointing out Laplace as the creator of physical cosmology, the main scientific problems of Big Bang cosmology are highlighted. And then I take into account the philosophical problems posed by the possibility of cosmological science, which have to do with scientific fundamentalism and the myth of Cosmos.
