Resumen

El procesamiento cognitivo del lenguaje es un ámbito de la psicolingüística en pleno auge cuyos hallazgos pueden ayudar al desarrollo de la enseñanza-aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras. En este artículo se abordan algunas de las posibles aplicaciones del procesamiento cognitivo en la enseñanza de construcciones de relativo para estudiantes de español como lengua extranjera. En concreto, se tratan los conceptos de animacidad y de relación de dependencias y cómo inciden ambos en la enseñanza de oraciones de relativo en español como lengua extranjera y como lengua materna.
