Resumo

This short paper analyses the iconographic representations of the Liberal Arts of the Trivium and Quadrivium, contained in the fresco paintings of the vault of the Library of the Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial. The Liberal Arts are represented, in the form of matrons, as a transition from Philosophy to Theology.
