Abstract
The author presents a critical review of the naturalized, evolutionary and postmodern theories of knowledge. During the last few decades these theories have used the pragmatic turn, allegedly played by Heidegger and the second Wittgenstein, to focus on the review and ruthless demolition of the Cartesian image and its main assumptions (representationalism, foundationalism, egotism). In this way, they have favoured the replacement of the theory of knowledge itself, and its universalizing language, for a sort of philosophy of culture of hermeneutic inspiration.
