Résumé

One of the main targets of the European Union (EU) is the achievement of the economic convergence between all of its members. Most studies on convergence, based on per capita income, hold its attainment in the European context. But all of these researches leave out phenomenons which suggest the existence of a spurious convergence. For example, the inability of some countries to absorb the productivity increases in an endogenous way, which was a characteristic identified by the Latin-Americans structuralists to describe the peripheral position of an economy. Therefore, assuming that the European countries have unequal positions, this research evaluates the convergence process in both productivity and wages in 19 countries of the EU between 1995 and 2014.
