Resumo

The evolution of distributed ledger technology implementation has faced certain obstacles to its correct development. For example, in the area of securities markets, it has been detected in the EU that DLT projects are not consolidated due to legal constraints. This problem has come to its terms in the European Union owing to the proposal for Proposal for a Regulation on a pilot regime for market infrastructures based on distributed ledger technology. The aim of this proposal is to implement a sandbox or testing area in which market infrastructures are free to experiment with this technology. Given the challenges that the use of TRD by trading centres based will face, this paper tries to decipher the distinguishing features of the proposed regulation that would help to ease the burdens of their implementation.
