Resum
Th ere is an inescapable tension within legal disciplines: that between their scientifi c claims and their appeal to justice. It is a tension that is refl ected in the main currents of legal thought of the twenties of the last century. Th is article makes a systematization of the main thinkers of that historical moment, analyzing their contributions from the distance that time off ers. Th e claim is not to recall them, but to show the renunciation of any of these two dimensions would impoverish refl ection on the law and would therefore be detrimental to legal science.
