Resumo

In the last decades, the different applications of the new methodologies that represent an innovation in the educational field have been dealt with, both in a theoretical and practical way. From different emerging pedagogical methods, we have tried to interpret the present didactic innovation proposals, which range from student evaluation to the teaching of contents. In this work, from a literature review of existing literature, we present a tour of the background and precursors of emerging methodologies, and analyze the need to assess these contributions in the use of current learning strategies, which provides us with a global vision of the state of the art in relation to educational innovation.Recent studies lead us to analyze new approaches with a historical perspective in order to try to determine whether we are really talking about brand new methodological lines or whether we are at a moment in which the roots of education have been reinvented. The study concludes by proposing a new meaning for the term “educational innovation”.
