Abstract

After having worked for nearly two decades in the academic field of educator’s education, a linearstudy is proposed from which to help future educators in the improvement of their teaching practiceby means of Body Expression practices. It is a well-known fact that teachers nowadays feel frustratedabout the little significance of their presence in the classrooms, but no less important is the feelingamong students of the lack of strength, illusion and enthusiasm in their teachers. The body, as the firstinstrument in the act of teaching, must be considered, from different approaches, both as body attitude, projected image, as much as behaviourally in the interaction with students. Therefore this articletries to increase consciousness of the body and develop strategies to improve teachers’ presence in theclassroom, increasing their self confidence and strength when transmitting their teachings. The implementation of activities oriented toward body consciousness, both global and fragmentary,at the same time it trains different body communication codes and options, also preparesfuture educators to use their bodies adequately. Body control will help them handle the discursive partmore confidently and use verbal discourse more efficiently. This variety of working tools will help themimprove not only professionaly but also personally, in relation with their surroundings; the satisfactionachieved at the end of the academic course reinforce their desire to become educators and theirpride on having chosen a career in which they are confident will become good teachers.
