Abstract
The Galician Ribeira Sacra is well known for the abundance of medieval monasteries that are located on both banks of the Sil river. In this paper we are going to focus our attention on the monastery of San Adrián, in the current parish of Sacardebois (Ourense). Today it is barely remembered and just kept scarce architectural remains, but was one of the many monasteries with an early medieval foundation in the area. From our perspective, its importance resides in the handwritten preservation of its 10th century building inscription. In this paper we will briefly review its transmission, its text and the context in which it was originated.
